The Pferd Polifan PSF Zirkon zirconia alumina abrasive type 29 flap disc has a phenolic resin backing for reinforcement and a threaded hole for attachment to grinding tools. The zirconia alumina abrasive is self-sharpening and more durable than aluminum oxide, which makes it suitable for fast material removal rates and aggressive grinding on steel and stainless steel. It is free of iron, sulphur, and chlorinated fillers. Applications include weld dressing and edge finishing. The disc shape is angled for maximum workpiece contact and is commonly used with angle grinders at high contact pressure and steep work angles. Threaded hole fastening type indicates a disc with a female-threaded central hole that twists onto a threaded arbor. The tool's arbor goes through the central hole in the disc for fastening.Abrasive flap discs are made from overlapping pieces of coated abrasive attached to a hub.
